because I'll get in trouble with some of you if I wait any longer to post!

I finally have some stuff that's pertinent to the topic of college--so I can post!

I visited Cambridge and Boston for the fourth of July weekend with my family and Lisa and it was reallyyyy fun! I just love the atmosphere there--Boston feels like a cleaner, more family-friendly version of New York. I hate the Red Sox, which they are downright crazy about all throughout the city, but whatever. Yankees, all the way! The fireworks were amazing along the Charles River (apparently they broadcast those ones to show on TV nationwide? I didn't know that until I went.) I showed Lisa around the actual campus, which felt pretty cool as I begin to feel sort of kind of maybe comfortable there and know my way around :)

I haven't gotten word yet about signing up for classes yet, so I think that it happens when we go down for Freshman Week on August 27th. I read something about them wanting to advise us in person before we decide on classes. I took placement tests in Math, English, Bio, Chem, and Physics. They ranged from pretty manageable to ridiculously hard (I only answered a few Physics questions...probably should have taken AP at Blake at some point.) But no matter what, we can sign up for whatever classes we want, so the placement tests don't matter too much.

Pretty soon we'll get our roommates, which I'm SO excited for! I really want an international roommate--I feel like that would be an incredible way to get to know someone with a completely different upbringing than my own. I'm also going down a week early to clean up dorms as kind of a way to get to know people. It might sound sort of weird to voluntarily do work for the week before Freshman Week--but I have a feeling it's going to be really fun and memorable.

I miss you guys a lot and I'm thorougly enjoying your posts! Can't wait to see whats up with the rest of you. I'm doing a musical called Aida right now. It's technically at Blake, but the cast is from all over the county and it's a really cool experience working with so many new people. For those of you who know the show, I'm playing Radames. If anyone wants to check it out when it goes up in late July, I'll post with the info in a few weeks. It's looking really good! Oh, and I turn 18 next week :)

Anyway, I'm exhausted now. Hope you all are enjoying your summer!
Peaceeeee,
JP

  1. and by "all over the county", you mean blake and wootton? :) good to hear it's going well. d never officially got back to me about the stage-managing. we kind of petered off "negotiating" terms, i guess you could say... womp womp.

did you ride the T/check out copley while you were in boston?

  2. there are way more schools than that!! although blake and wootton kids dominate the lead roles, the ensemble is from all over. :P

and yeah I did, it's awesome! only 2 bucks to ride, or 8 for an all-day pass!! copley was extremely pretty, and bustling with like 4th of july festivities in the streets. it was awesome!

  3. Oh look who it is...Justin. Posting on beatblog? I never thought this would happen. But I'm glad you did, it was nice reading about your wonderful life and such, lol.

I'm quite jealous about the Boston thing. I love that place for the exact reason you said. It's a family friendly New York. Well enjoy that place for the both of us!

An international roomie would be cool. You could learn to curse people out in different languages...

That's only if you wanted to. ahaha, I'm sure you'll learn a lot from the people around you even if they aren't internationally raised. And that's a good thing. I'm glad you want to get to know people, ahaha. This sounds dumb, I'm done!
